What you need
  1. 1 8oz pkg cream cheese – room temp.
  2. 2 Sticks of unsalted butter – room temp.
  3. 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  4. 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  5. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  6. 2 cups of all purpose flour
  7. 6 tablespoons of sugar
  8. 1/4 cup light brown sugar – packed
  9. 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  10. 3/4 cup raisins
  11. 1 cup walnuts, finely chopped
  12. 1 egg beaten
  13. 1 tablespoon of milk
  14. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  15. 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar
What you do
  1. On med. speed – cream butter and cream cheese
  2. Add 1/4 cup granulated sugar, the salt & vanilla
  3. On Low speed add in flour until just incorporated
  4. Roll dough into a ball. Cut the ball in quarters & wrap each in plastic wrap, refrigerate for 1 hour
  5. For filling, combine 6 tablespoons of granulated sugar, the brown sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, the raisins, and walnuts
  6. Roll each ball of dough into a 9-inch circle. Spread the dough with 2 tablespoons of apricot preserves and sprinkle with 1/2 cup of the filling
  7. Cut the circle into 12 equal wedges (see photos)
  8. Start with the wide edge, roll up each wedge (see photos). Place cookies, points tucked under, on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Chill for 30 mins
  9. Preheat the oven at 350 degrees
  10. Combine 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  11. Mix the egg and the tablespoon of milk to create the egg wash
  12. Brush each cookie with the egg wash and sprinkle with the sugar mixture.
  13. Bake cookies for 15-30 mins. until lightly browned
