What you need
  1. 2 cups grapefruit-infused silver tequila
  2. 1 cup fresh grapefruit juice
  3. 12 Tbs. St-Germain elderflower liqueur
  4. 8 Tbs. fresh lime juice
  5. Club soda
  6. Sanding sugar for rimming the glass (white sugar will also work)
  7. Grapefruit twists or lime wedges, for garnish
Make the grapefruit-infused tequila
  1. Shave the rind/zest from 2 grapefruits with a vegetable peeler.
  2. Pour a little of the tequila out and make room for the peals.
  3. Add the zest to a 750-ml bottle of silver tequila.
  4. Put in the refrigerator for at least 3 days and up for a maximum of 2 weeks.
  5. Remove the grapefruit.
Make the cocktail
  1. Cut a piece of grapefruit and rub it around the rim of the glass
  2. Dip the glass in sugar crystals
  3. Put the tequila, grapefruit juice, St-Germain, and lime juice in a cocktail shaker filled with ice.
  4. Cover and shake vigorously for 10 seconds.
  5. Strain into 2 glasses ice filled glasses
  6. Add a splash of club soda.
  7. Garnish with a twist or a wedge of lime.
Tips & tricks
  1. The tequila will keep indefinitely once the zest is removed.
