This stitch creates woven looking fabric similar to a basket. The basket weave stitch would be great for afghans, heavy weight sweaters and potholders.

For foundation chain, chain a multiples of 8 to end on an even weave

  1. Ch intended width
  2. Turn
  3. 1 FPdc in 4th ch from hook, 1 FPdc in each ch across length
  4. Turn
